Ahhh! Ang init! Ito na talaga ang pinaka-mainit sa mainit. 

Di ko na talaga kinakaya, kayo ba, kamusta naman? 

Let's have a quick story. 

We had our first air conditioner when I was in Grade 2, around 6 or 7 years old at that time. It was considered a luxury by some because, let's face it, it wasn't that hot back then, and not all families could afford an air conditioner.

I was under the impression that my mom was so frugal because she always limited out air conditioner usage. We only used the air conditioner at night and, if I was lucky, every weekend during the afternoon. So I told myself, "When I have my own place, I'll make sure to have my own aircon and never turn it off!"

As I grew older, got married, and finally had a house of our own, when our budget permitted, one of the first things we bought was an air conditioner because that had been my frustration growing up. I was diagnosed with scalp dermatitis, and during hot days, my scalp would flare up, causing me to literally scratch my scalp until it bled. 

It was the worst.

From frustration, it turned into a necessity for our small family because I couldn't sleep, think, work, or even sit without my air conditioning; otherwise, my scalp would flare up, and I'd be irritated throughout the day, even with medication that would make me groggy. 

After a while, the weather worsened, the heat got stronger, and electricity bills became higher. But did I limit my air conditioner use? No. 

For our small family, aircon is our life. 

I can't sacrifice our comfort for a little amount. See how much the electric bill goes up?! I was always thinking about how much we could save if we turned off our air conditioner, but I guess if we have the correct HP of air conditioning for the size of our room combined with the correct power-saving settings, electric bills can be manageable. 

I'd rather pay for a high electric bill than a hospital bill. I had a friend who died from heatstroke a couple of days ago. The first thing I said was, "Gosh, she still has young kids." I know that there are different causes of heatstroke, but if these things can be prevented, why not, right? 

While expenses can be higher due to air conditioners, we can't compromise our health and comfort. How about you, is aircon a necessity? 

 If you have been my reader for quite some time, you would definitely know my downfalls, my darkest time, and how I recovered from it. 

You know what, I'm so lucky to experience all of those because now, I'm enjoying the fruits of all my tears, stress, anxiety, and troubles. I'M GETTING MARRIED! 

Hi Loves,

I know this is not my usual time of posting, but I just can't help but show my gratitude for all the things I had experienced before I became a Freelancer. So I was just cleaning my bedroom (as my normal weekly routine). I have to change the bedsheets and pillowcases and re-arrange them because tomorrow, it's going to be a mess. AGAIN! Haha, mommy things. 

But today is very different. 

Every year we have new year's resolutions and goals, right? My new year's resolution is always to provide a stable life for Edmund- nothing for myself materially but to just have a peaceful and healthier state of mind. But this year, I decided to make a goal for myself. 

I want to buy a new laptop. 

You see, my current laptop is really an old one, it's actually 4 years old, and it was already well used. Now, although I can still use it, its performance is not the best anymore. But being the practical single momma, I shrug off the idea of purchasing a new laptop; instead, I will be allocating my budget to what's more important, like Edmund's schooling- he's an upcoming Kindergarten student, by the way. 

However, there's just a part of me that always says, "Come on, it's time to invest in a new gadget; it will generate income anyways." So here's the big boom- I purchased a laptop using my own salary from my Freelancing. 

I know it's nothing fancy or surprised,, but I would just like to share this experience with you. My heart is overwhelmed with joy and satisfaction that finally, I am slowly making goals and putting action into them. 

The first big achievement was to enroll Edmund in a private school, and now, this and not to mention this happened in a span of just 3 weeks. 

Going back to Day 1

As I am cleaning my room, I noticed how much my room changed. In the past, Edmund and I sleep in a double-sized bed with lots of beddings, and I work just on my bed because I have no office space- but look how much I grew. 

I have a decent computer chair, storage for my product shoot items, and a big ass Orocan box for all my stocks to sell. 

Grabe, ang laki na pala ng pinagbago. 

I remember when I decided to go all-in with freelancing, I converted my old drawing board into an office table- it's very spacious but not sturdy; more so, it's not convenient to use. I also remember using our dining chair as my office chair. After all, I can't buy the office chair once because I was literally broke and unemployed. 

I also remember not having a second monitor and work with my old Acer laptop that has been with me for 6 years (way back in high school) before I switched to my laspag Asus laptop. 

I also remember how hard it is to manage my time because I'm trying to earn my degree, be a mom and a provider all at the same time. 

Looking back before I started freelancing, I was depressed, broke, and very angry with everything and anything that has been happening in my life before. But now, I can provide for Edmund and can finally stand on my own two feet little by little; baby steps. 

Faith can definitely move mountains

I have been bruised, depressed, and was knocked down. I even questioned the Lord "Why me" but God really moves in his mysterious ways. He knows the perfect timing, when, and where he will give the blessings. 

All good things in life, require hard work, faith, and time. Nothing comes very easy. I have always been the person who wants to happen things when I said so but the good Lord, Jerico, Edmund, and my parents taught me to be patient to wait for things at the right time. 

To all single parents, women who are in a middle of a challenging situation, and to all who are asking so many WHYs, 

Always remember, you may not understand everything now but remember, all your questions will be answered in God's perfect time. All your hard work will be repaid with the sweetest victory and success.

Aim high, never fear because we are resillient! 

Life has been very busy for me these past few months. Hence, my blog hiatus. But that's okay. I have so many realizations and I want to share them with you. You know, these past few months I have been very stressed out with various triggers. Of course, the number one is the pandemic as this really the cherry on top of these 'crazy' situation that we are all going through.

Note: I am writing this with a heavy heart and disappointment. I may not know the basis of medical stuff but I am writing this as a point of view of a patient.

Yesterday, I was supposed to meet a client in Mandaluyong for a Social Media Marketing project. The night before that, I am experiencing weird stomach pain and assuming it was because of my acid, I immediately drank my medications, however, that didn't suffice the pain I am experiencing. So Wednesday comes and the pain was still there- tolerable and I can still work. I did what I have to do and prepare myself at around 3pm since my meeting is at 7pm. I gave myself at least 2 to 3 hours of travel time because of traffic.

All set, I posted a question on a mommy group on FB asking medication for acid reflux, what they do and what they take. The majority of the moms answered they are taking Gaviscon, so I left my house at around 4pm and I decided to go to Mercury Drug Store to buy Gaviscon in hopes that my stomach pain will be alleviated.


However, as I was walking, I am feeling a little bit dizzy and the pain on my stomach is getting worse, I bought the medicine and the pain was so severe that I'm on the verge of passing out.

Lucky me, I'm living in a place where the hospital is just a tumbling away so I immediately went there and asked for an OPD doctor for Gastro, however, the doctor already had his cut off so the last thing I need to do was to go to ER to have immediate assistance.

So I went to the ER and the nurse got my vital signs and the doctor checked me, without saying anything, she instructed the nurse to put heplock and inject medication for pain and acid reflux. So the nurse immediately did as instructed I was assisted to the hospital bed and placed the heplock and the first medication. The doctor also gave me a list of lab tests to do. So after the medication was injected, I immediately go to the ultrasound section to ask what do I need to do, however, after walking I felt dizzy so I went back to the ER and sat down to the hospital bed where the nurse put my heplock and asked if I can sit down for a minute because I am feeling so dizzy.

After several minutes, a pregnant woman with her companion went there and says she cannot breathe. So I was still dizzy and of course, they need to take action on the pregnant woman, one nurse said that I need to stay outside because they need to cater the pregnant woman's needs.

Mind you, there are 3 blank beds there that I can be transferred. I told the nurse if I can stay in one of the beds because I am really not feeling well, she said that they can't because there's a patient with a more urgent case. So left with no choice, I climbed down and sat on the companion's chair.

I looked at the nurse who put heplock on me and I said I'm so dizzy, can I lie down.

He immediately assisted me to the blank bed and even joked "I thought you're strong" I said, I am not afraid of the needles, maybe it's because of the medication.

So I lie down and got some rest and finally felt better but the stomach pain was still there.

At around 6pm when I felt a little better, I went and did my labtests, I also asked the nurse if I can do my CBC on the ER instead of going to the lab because of my stomach pain. The process was really slow and it seems like they don't care about my situation.

Also at that time, I noticed that it was an hour after I was injected with the medication and the pain was not receding, so when I told the nurse my feeling, he just said that he will say it to the doctor but the doctor didn't come to see me or check what else they can do help me at least.

My mom arrived at 7pm since she came from Paranaque for a family reunion she was so worried but I assured that everything will be OK. I had all lab tests done and it all shows normal.

After several hours later, I was given the payment and I paid a whopping 4k in total.

Wow! The pain was still there, the doctor who was attending me was sleeping and the other doctor wakes that doctor up in order for us to be discharged. She was sooo unapproachable mind you, I'm paying in cash in a private hospital. Yet, the service was extremely poor.

This was the first for me, to be honest, I have been through so many ER situations due to several sicknesses but this was the first that I felt disappointed.

This week may have been the hardest and scariest moment for 2020 yet. Taal Volcano erupted and continues to erupt which results in the entire Filipino nation to be scared for everyone's safety. This moment of time, you would see good samaritan and those people who don't seem to care at all (self-centered people *smh*)


It was an eye-opening experience for me because I valued my life more and this made me want to make a better relationship with my family members and loved ones. This also made me realize that I should learn to prioritize things and learn when not to care about negative things and toxic people.

Life is too short for crazy drama and negativity.

We must fill our lives with happiness, gratitude, and learnings so that we can impart the same positivity to people around us. We need to be thankful for every person we have come across our way, whether there may be people who have hurt us during the process, let us not hold grudges instead, let us be thankful for them because, through them, we were able to become braver and stronger every step of the way.

Let us also be thankful that we have enough time to spare to say that we love our loved ones and cherish the time God has been giving us- let us take that opportunity to make them feel loved and wanted. Let us be grateful that we have food on our table and we can be able to eat at least 3 times a day. Let us be filled with wisdom for every obstacle that comes in our way.

Because some people may be in a worse scenario than us.

If we pity ourselves for the situation we are in, let us know that there are less fortunate people right now who are facing harder problems or may even lose a loved one or lost a job and these people are more hopeless than us.

Imagine how can they start new?

These things are going through my mind and whenever I see bad news online, I am more grateful for each day that has passed wherein I can be a better instrument and be able to share all learnings I have learned and be able to show how much my family, my partner, my son, my friends are special to me.

Let us be grateful and pray for the safety of everyone and most especially the ones who are in danger zones of Taal.

We all have weird interactions with brands who offer sponsorships or exdeal, right? Well, this situation happened in 2019 wherein a start up facial spa offered a sponsorship to me. I stumble upon their post that they are looking for bloggers who are willing to do an exdeal in exchange of an honest review of their experience.

I signed up and received a call from the owner talking about how the situation was done.


I found it weird that she was really "hard selling" her spa to the point where she says "Dina-dare ko talaga ung clients ko na itry muna nila ako dahil mas maganda ang service ko compared to this and that well-known facial spa" so I was like "Okay, sana po magkaron tayo ng maayos na usapan wherein I can also help you gain from my review".

Here comes the first weird scenario.

I asked for a contract and she said that she don't have any so I said that it would be important for the both of us to have a contract not just for formality but for our security as well- bloggers won't have any other collaboration with the client's competitors. Also the bloggers will feel assure that they will have the proper care that they deserve despite the fact that the arrangement is for ex-deal only. Since she said that there's no contract, she said that I can draft one to her and they can check for us to sign.

So I did, which we didn't sign upon meeting. Well, okay.

Second weird thing is that we agreed to meet early since she said my procedure will last for 2 to 3 hours so I arrived there a little bit late due to traffice but to my surprise when I arrived there she said that she will do her eyebrows done first and I have to document it. To me I was like, EH? I didn't signed up for this, you need a marketing team to do the documentation for you because that was not part of my job.

Not sounding like a diva but that what happened, I was doing her FB live- setting up the camera and I have to talk on the live while she barge in by telling HOW GREAT HER SERVICE IS! So while she was doing her microblading, I was really pissed off already because a microblading session is long and the master artist who was doing her brows is also an exdeal and I have to wait for their procedures to be done before I get my turn- I feel like my time was wasted.

But for formality and professionalism, I didn't said anything but in the back of my mind, I was thankful that we didn't sign the contract because she will continue making and treating me as her assistant instead of an influencer. Well, I must adjust because she admit at first that she has limited knowledge as to how things work between business and influencers- okay, cards closed.

While doing my procedure, she was asking what I do and I told her that I was managing social medias and as an entrepreneur, I took the opportunity to handle her page for a minimal amount, and she said sure why not. She paid the initial deposit and I do my thing as to how to make her business page even better- made her a simple logo, cover photo and postings.

What shockens me is that her personal account was always changing, there are so many accounts with different names but same profile picture adding me, so I don't mind it because there are so many posers now but I wonder, my client is not responding to the facebook account in which I am friends with. After two or three days, she called me on my phone and told me that her facebook account was hacked and she can no longer sign in and then to cut a long story short, she wants me to report and ask my friends to report her 'poser' account.

That is the time I had enough because I am not an assistant and even though the service was good, the way she treated me was not good compared to the other brands I've worked before.

So bye felicia, I don't hold the facebook page anymore and I didn't continue doing the exdeal. I had a proper good bye to her to give respect but my experience with her is such life changing and eye-opening.

Always know your worth, bloggers. Sure we need sponsors to make content and we need money but once we are taken for granted by the clients, we have the right to say no. =)

I know I have been on hiatus for a very long time, I know... and here's the reason why...

Lost motivation

This would be the first thing on my list why I was gone. Don't get me wrong, I was in a very good state of my blogging/vlogging career, brands and PRs are coming in and I have several commitments I need to fulfill. It was fun at first but then I came to a point wherein I got overwhelmed, exhausted and then lost focus.

I feel like since I am committed to them, I won't have the freedom to say whatever I want or work to whomever. I realized I can work better if I'm independent. I can give myself the freedom to work on my own pace, work with brands that I truly believe and stop whenever I needed.

Preoccupied work, studies, life balance problem

If you have been with me for a very long time, I know that you are aware of how much I put effort into everything I do. Now that I'm finally a graduating student and there are so many things on my plate, I need to sacrifice things to put more effort into the things that are more important. Don't get me wrong, blogging is very important to me. However, I need to put attention to balance my work (that one who gives me stable income), studies (I'm going to graduate next year), life (I cannot take aback to my responsibilities).

I just need to make a 180-degree term in my life and perspective.

I had to accept that I cannot handle many things all in one time.

With that, I need to let go of some things to allocate my energy to the ones who are more important today which is my studies, life, and my regular job. (Also, I have to be honest that during this process, I was able to build a business with my bestfriend which was pretty awesome)

Newly found love

Jerico, my one-year partner has been in most of my social media posts and I have a series of blogs with him in it. Tell you a little bit about him, he is a chef and he's working in a well-known restaurant in the Philippines. He was also a blogger and he was my follower way back my Tumblr days.

Meeting him was fate and with him in the picture now made me a new idea to rebrand my whole persona in my blog- Not your ordinary girl by Mhow so that is something that you need to look forward.

He's a very supportive guy and I couldn't thank him enough for all the love and support he has been giving me and Edmund; something that I didn't expect. Ever.

So what's next?

I want to end my year with something awesome! So hopefully, I can get my sht together and compose more blogs. What's different now is that my blogs have better substance compared to what I normally post. Expect that this will still have beauty blogs, reviews, features, and more travel blogs because Jerico and I loves to do a staycation, I will also do more blogs related to self-empowerment which is one of the things I am aiming to do but not implemented until now.

I'm excited about the future. ♥

"Hi,(insert month)!"

Hi guys, this blog post might be a little more personal as I will be sharing with you some 'hints' of what is happening with my life. I remember when I was still a teenager and blogging using Tumblr, I used to have an open book with my readers, I remember that whenever my ex-boyfriend and I used to fight, it was posted, everything I do was posted, everything I feel was posted but things changed as I had a son and I want to live a more 'private' life because it's for his own good.

But this time, I'll be sharing with you my not-so-detailed-personal-experience so that you may be wise in choosing your own paths and not make the same mistakes that I did and to hopefully inspire you to conquer the challenges that you are facing right now.


My depression started the 3rd year Edmund's father and I have been dating. I really wanted to break up with him because I'm not really happy with my life and that I am really suffocated by being with him and I feel that I'm not growing in that relationship. So what I did is I tried to break up with him but he refuses not to. Until I moved out of my house and tried to have a job and earn a living- that time, I'm still struggling in making our relationship work, but I just feel like I'm just the only one whose working things out. He became complacent to the fact that I'll always be there for him no matter what. So what I did was I broke up with him, again. And enjoyed my freedom, I went out with my friends and high school friends, drinking with my officemates until I get sober- but my freedom wasn't that long when my partner begged for another chance and even if I went out with different guys already, he still wants to be with me. So I made the most stupid decision to make up with him.

And then, I got pregnant.

I honestly expected that he'll opt for abortion. But I was really happy when he said that we'll continue the baby, he'll work- he had a concrete plan. But none of them includes telling to our parents that we're having a baby. I don't know why I just leave the decision-making to him because he's the head of our soon-to-be family.

Living with him was hard. For 10 months of living with him, he didn't bother looking for a job. He spends his time playing DOTA 2. I was really stupid to stay with him, I know but who wants to give her child a broken family right? That's the reason I stayed even though the love was slowly fading away.

There were other bad experiences that I'd rather not to say because it's too painful to write and too embarrassing to share.

But the main thing is, I lost my self-esteem, my confidence and I find myself unlovable, ugly and disgusting at that specific moment.

When we broke up, I remember having scenarios of killing myself but chose not to, because whenever I looked at Edmund, I couldn't help but cry.

But there was one thing that became my emotional breakdown. I was by far the worse that I've gotten. I remember dreaming about I was hanging in an empty room with a black cloth on my head. I also can hear things ordering me to kill myself and my son.

I decided to see a psychiatrist when I tried to kill myself by overdosing some antihistamine pills. I consumed almost 30 tablets of antihistamine because I want to sleep, I haven't slept for 3 consecutive days that time. I was really desperate to end my suffering and sadness to the point that I don't care anymore to my son and to my family and people that I might leave behind.

But I didn't die. I remember one thing that my psychiatrist said, you cannot dwell on the past and that your life should continue because that's how things are supposed to be. Life must go on.

I've been seeing him for 2 months and I must say that I am really getting better. He prescribed anti depressants and sleeping pills. He also advised me to make myself busy and go to the gym to keep my mind pre-occupied.

Though things are going well. There are days that I still feel sad and worthless, and there were moments that I cry- it's normal. I'm human after all.

I know that I can surpass whatever problems that I am facing. I will update you guys with my depression and anxiety journey.

I know that this post should be posted a week ago but I was stuck with school works and different problems that had piled up. I wish I will be better soon. But, here it goes. Last August 12, 2017- Saturday, I asked for a day off to unwind all the toxins and all the negativity in my mind and in my life. I have been very negative towards life.

I really need a break.

So I packed my bags and I decided that I will be going anywhere, just to release all the stress. I was supposed to go to Mindoro, but I am very lucky because God gave me somewhere that I can go to which is NU Skin Event.


I went to Octagon Center in Ortigas to attend the said event. I was really clueless on the area, how to go there. I went on a little adventure. It was really fun.


On the event, I experienced to have my skin analyzed. They examined the complexion for wrinkles, spots, pores, textures, bacteria, sun damage, pigmented spots, and acne. My body was scanned based on the Oxidative Stress and it was also analyzed based on the Body Composition so I would know my body age.


On top of that, I experienced their products. I am really amazed by how the products work. I was able to purchase their toothbrush- AP24 Whitening Toothpaste, which I will be reviewing in a few weeks.

After the event, I went to MOA to meet Ronald and Fransen. Ronald was one of my youtube friends and we met for the first time, we ate at Zark's and it was amazing. I've never been to Zark's or eaten any of their food so this is the first time.


After MOA, I went straight ahead to Trinoma so I can ride a UV going home but before I went home, I purchased some of crafting supplies and I was able to purchase a bag for 300 pesos which is really amazing! I also had an ear pierce, which reminds me that by the time comes that my pierce is already healed, I need to be okay.

This day was really fun! It was refreshing, I hope I can do this every month.
