As a first time mom, I am very excited to see his milestones. I've seen his first step, run, jump, heard his first word, experienced his first solid food of course and now, I'm very excited about something bigger- schooling. Aside from the fact that I'm really excited about buying school supplies, I am very excited to see him flourish in his academics and support him in different school activities.

Believe it or not, as early as know, I'm already canvassing through different schools and asking different parents their school recommendation.

I must admit, I have a very limited knowledge when it comes to different learning approaches because I only studied in one school during my elementary and high school years that's why I the only know the traditional way of learning little did I know that there are non-traditional schools available.


I was invited to one of the private school in Quezon City, Benedictine International School to learn about systems thinking which was one of the newest learning approaches in the country. Basically, this systems thinking school is training their students to see the bigger picture and how the parts of a system interact with each other, making each student more critical and emphatic as they make responsible choices with proper training and exposure to this way of thinking, individual increases his chance at personal success.

Being one of the pioneer schools who cater to systems thinking, Benedictine International School worked hard for years to become a Systems Thinking School. Taking two core modules on helping school administrators and owners build systems thinking schools and immersing young children in systems thinking via Camp Connect.

Systems Thinking Workshop

As one of the lucky mommy bloggers invited to experience what systems thinking is all about, we undergo different activities that would let us practice some of the habits of systems thinking.

1. Two truths and a lie

We were separated into three groups and each people from the group will say two facts and one lie about themselves and the other members had to guess which one was the lie.

2. Pastas and Marshmallow

The three groups was given 20 pcs of uncooked pasta, a masking tabe, a yarn and also a marshmallow. The teams should create a tower using the pastas and bind them using either the yarn or masking tape and the marshmallow should be put on the top of the tower.

What I've realized in the workshop is how this will eventually help the students in making decisions, thinking about the consequences of their actions which can be applied in real life situations and making them a responsible individual.
Benedictine International School and Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL)

Dealing with the emotion is one of the toughest challenges one could ever face, some may fall into depression and later on suicide. For BIS, it's important to know the emotional state of their students. 

During opening activities, the teacher will ask the students how are they feeling using their 'mood meter' that shows different expressions (happy, sad, excited, mad and scared) in that way the teacher would know the emotional state of each student for them to adjust on how they will facilitate their class.

Read-a-loud Session

Of course, the BIS didn't miss any chance to show us how interactive their approach to each student and showed us how to read aloud. This activity is perfect for mothers with toddlers to bond, have fun and learn at the same time.

School Tour

After the workshop, we were given a chance to see some of the facilities of the school.

BIS's facilities are all equipped with LCD projectors and airconditioned.

Their English Resource Center (ERC) is filled with a collection of Scholastica's books which all of the students would enjoy.


Their pre-elementary classrooms are very fun, bright and spacious, perfect for young ones who need to have enough time to work and learn at the same time. Furthermore, they cater to 15 students per classroom which are perfect for the teacher to close monitor the students.


Their classroom seating arrangement is very versatile, they sometimes change the seat's position from time to time to encourage their students in an open communication and to maintain a bond between the students.


Their playground is very perfect for children. It's also safe because it's still inside the school wherein the guards can be able to see them to avoid accidents.


There is also a play area near the guard house wherein kids can play while waiting for their service.

Music has been my companion through these years, from Parokya Ni Edgar to Eraserheads to Justin Bieber to Khalid and so many artists, I must admit, I grew up with music and until now, I'm still highly influenced by different artists.

The way we present, celebrate and appreciate music have upgraded over the years but one thing's for certain- concert, clubbings and music festival never goes out of style.

SM Fairview introduced the newest approach in partying- Silent Clubbing. Who would have thought that was a thing? A different approach with a different twist that will surely be appreciated by people of all ages.


The concept is the people will be handed wireless earphones with a radio transmitter. The signal will be picked up by the wireless headphone worn by the participants. Those who don't have any headphones cannot hear the music. It may look unusual because it will give the effect of a room full of people dancing to nothing.

This is my first time joining this event and I must say, I am very excited.

In this event, SM Fairview invited 3 world class DJs to play for us and entertain us with the event.

DJ Marvelous which set was played on Channel 1 is playing House Music.
DJ  Angel Villaronte on Channel 2 is mixing RnB music.
DJ Callum David is on Channel 3 and plays EDM.


I thought the event will be boring but to my surprise, it was extremely entertaining but the only thing is, I felt kind of shy to bang my head because people would think I'm crazy (LOL) but all in all I really loved the event, really refreshing and with their advocacy- to eliminate noise pollution, this is a great way to celebrate and have fun with your friends.

All in all, the event was a success, the participants surely had fun. Congratulations, SM!

I may be working at home but mind you, it is just as stressful as working in the corporate world. I may not be traveling to work but I am taking care of my 2-year-old while doing my tasks and soon, will be studying not to mention that we don't have a helper for 2 months now which makes me the ultimate house helper as well. It's chaotic but I love the challenge.

One day, I asked myself "When is the best time to fall in love again?"

I was in an almost 5-year relationship with the father of my child which eventually didn't work out, it sucks and it's painful somehow traumatizing a breakup would be and I'm happy that I was able to cope up with that experiences and every day I'm still learning from it. So allow me to share my insights on when its the best time to fall in love.


Fall inlove when you already know how to love yourself. Learning how to love yourself is the greatest love of all as one of the most famous songs of Whitney Huston says and I strongly believe in that statement. How can you be able to love others when you don't love yourself. Yes, it's a great feeling to love someone but if you won't give time to love yourself, you'll end up being empty and intoxicated.

When you love someone, you are required to love everything about the person, the good and the bad, you have to accept his flaws. Falling in love is making adjustments regarding the person you are dating with, I remember one friend told me "You will lose all the standards you have for a person when you love them." So are you willing to be that someone who will love a person despite all their flaws and shortcomings? Think about it.

Fall inlove when you are ready. You can feel it when you're ready. When you're ready, it comes naturally, you give time to your partner, talk to them for hours, giving them the attention, affection and care that they deserve. Fall inlove when you're ready to get hurt because being in a relationship isn't all about rainbows, flowers and forever after its all about staying strong to surpass all your challenges- together. Do you think you're ready?

I am not ready to fall inlove but I feel alone

We all have days wherein we feel so down so know that you're not alone on this journey, I know how it feels. What I do? I open myself to different people that I can talk to, I don't limit myself to other social media but I join different free dating sites.

Joining dating sites doesn't mean that you are looking for a partner often then not some people use these sites because they just wanted to meet new people and know their culture and if you're lucky they have a partner for life.

I want to join dating sites because I want to have a sexual partner, is it possible?

Yes, some people also joining these sites for fun, there are also different sex sites available and you can meet different people looking for the same things as you do with no judgment, just be wise in choosing your buddy.

Why do you think it's great to start dating online?

You can work at your own pace. if you don't want to go and talk to people, then don't use the site. You can choose the person whom you think would be suitable for you.

Most interactions will start with honesty. I believe in this, when you're talking to a stranger, you can be whoever you want to be but if your main goal is to find your forever partner, I'm sure you'll start everything fresh and with honesty.

Stronger foundation. Since most relationship that came out in online dating starts with friendship and like I've mentioned above it starts with honesty.

Cheaper. Since most relationship will be long distance, having physical dates will not be on a regular basis, thus it makes waiting worth it and you can save more money.

Falling in love is the best feeling in the world but one move and you'll be crushed, keep your hearts guarded and open yourself to more possibilities.
